What you need to know
A Twist of Lime is a dry-hire bartending service. We do not hold an alcohol license, we do not sell alcohol, and we do not supply alcohol for your event. We may serve small samples that we buy ourselves at a complimentary tasting, at no charge and only to guests 21 or older. Alcohol for your event is provided by you, or by your licensed venue or caterer, and is served to your guests at no charge. If you buy from a licensed retailer, the retailer sells it to you directly and we are not the seller; you place the order with the retailer yourself. California Business and Professions Code §23399.1, quoted below, describes when a license is not required for serving alcohol at a private event. Whether it applies to your event depends on the facts of your event; we do not determine it for you.
Costs vary based on bottle quality, quantity and your menu; your Event Manager can help you build a budget. Any leftover alcohol is yours to keep.
If a liquor license is required
Some venues or events may require a liquor license (for example, public events, events where drinks are sold, certain corporate venues, and school fundraisers). If a license is required, the alcohol must be provided and served under the license of a licensed caterer or the venue. We do not obtain, hold or provide liquor licenses. Whether and how we can support the event in that setting depends on the licensee and applicable law; contact us before booking.

§23399.1. No license or permit shall be required for the serving and otherwise disposing of alcoholic beverages where all of the following conditions prevail:
- That there is no sale of an alcoholic beverage.
- That the premises are not open to the general public during the time alcoholic beverages are served, consumed or otherwise disposed of.
- That the premises are not maintained for the purpose of keeping, serving, consuming or otherwise disposing of alcoholic beverages.
Provided, however, that nothing in this section shall be construed to permit any person to violate any provision of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act.
